  11. I am wondering if anyone else is using Novaterm 9.5 and a 1670 modem?  I 
  12. have set the init routine to read  ATe1v1m1x4s11=50.  This speeds up the 
  13. dialling routine somewhat. The modem manual says to set x to 0, 1 or 2 
  14. but anything other than 4 doesn't seem to work properly.  I have the 1670 
  15. with the 4 DIPs on the rear.  I would like to know how to get the modem 
  16. and program to recognize a busy signal and hangup rather than timeout on 
  17. the dial process.

  19. On another note I am having some difficulty d-laoding files.  I have got 
  20. files via FTP from various sites, got files via mail-server at uwaterloo 
  21. also, but keep running into files that won't dissolve or work correctly.  
  22. For example, if I FTP GoDotDemo.lha from FTP.FUNET.FI (/pub/cbm/geos/) I 
  23. am unable to do anything with the file.  What do I need to decompress the 
  24. .lha archive.  The GoDot-update.sfx file will also not dissolve.  Since 
  25. it is an .sfx file I am assuming it should just load and run.  I have 
  26. even tried uuxfer on these files first to no avail.
  27. Any help greatly appreciated.  THANKS in advance.
